Chemical Glycobiology
Our research occurs at the interface of chemistry and biology with a special focus on solving disease-related questions in the field of glycobiology. In particular, we aim at elucidating the role that abnormal protein glycosylation plays in the pathology and progression of certain human diseases. To investigate glycoproteins, we develop and apply a variety of chemical tools that allow an in-depth characterization of structure, and elucidation of biological function and an identification of interaction partners.
